I want to support African films, but this doesn't look believable to me. I don't understand why a movie about Ghanaian women has to have a trailer which features a speaker with a "British" accent or American music "My Girl" for the theme music. These are dead giveaways that the movie is simply going to be an attempt to copy American films like The Best Man. We can embrace our own accents and music and have a much more authentic portrayal of our lives.
I concur with Lovely. From the trailer, also looks very much to me like the best man. But will have to give it a shot! I support African movies all the way even tho we are COPYCATS!
The website promotes the movie screening in Ghana...how do some of us based in London lets say get to watch this movie?Wait until some-one loads it on YouTube?
This looks good! Lovely, why can't you appreciate the movie for what it is? This is not trying to be an Oscar winning movie, and the Best Man was about relationships---everyone has relationships and we can all relate, so I don't care if this movie is a copy of that idea. I'm sure the director and the actresses are going to give it a unique twist that is African.
I agree it looks good and who cares if they are copycats more so not every one in African knows what Best Man movies is. Life is about learning from each other Good job.......xoxo
How many American films copy other films? this weekend Obsessed opened---that's a rip off of Fatal Attraction, but people are still flocking to see it. To me, every Tyler Perry movie is similar, but I still enjoy them. I for on applaud the director of this movie for trying something different and giving a universal story an African "twist."
I agree to ghana is just wack they are trying to copy u.s films first of all ghana people in genreal cant act compared to nigerians and yes there location ect. is good but dont copy some ones else screen lines and try to turn it around the costumes and hair is a hot mess as usuall and thats all i have to say also why the fuck is there a british women talkin and ameican music playin!? of jezz.....
