*New Column* Indie Inspiration: Junk Prints

Written By: Jamelia Mmari—I am an Etsy junkie; the democratization of the marketplace has been a beautiful thing for creative indie African entrepreneurs and more generally for those creative indie entrepreneurs with what I like to call African flavor ;)

Fun, urban, and thought provoking, Junk Prints is more than a shop, it is the artistic expression of of graphic designer/photo-illustrator Chanel Kennebrew (she's named after Coco Chanel). One of my favorite items is the clever "Hairy Hair" tee.
.
Here's what Chanel had to say about the clever tee:
Black Ladies, we have really got to let this whole hair thing go...too many of us carry around unnecessary baggage about hair. What ever you decide to do with what grows out of your head is your business, but I feel like a lot of the energy spent in "hair" could be redirected into something wayyyyy more powerful. Manage your efforts ladies.
