Great post! He's correct, the image is there and so is the skill, but the key is to getting it to the market place. It's frustrating to know that you're products and prosperity is blocked because of greed. If we can't get the goods inside the stores we must set up E-commerce sites to get the goods out because in all honesty, it's the only way.

While I'm happy to see this here on the mimi magazine blog, denoting Adama's work as 'Third World Couture' robs her and others from developing countries around the world of their shine. The world as far as i see it, is not divided into 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

@Vickie Remoe: Your comment is well taken; we grappled with coming up with a title that conveyed both the high end nature of Adama's work ("couture") and contrasting that with the realities of the country conditions in which that work is being created ("Third World"). Our hope is that the post sparks thought about both. We having nothing but love for Adama and are literally in awe of her talent; and of course the same goes for Sierra Leone.
