Beethoven In The Democratic Republic Of Congo

((  Written By:  Mimi Tsiane  ))  I was thrilled to pieces when I read that there was a classical symphony orchestra based in Kinchasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Orchestre Symphonique Kimbanguiste was founded by Armand Diangienda, over 20 years ago.  The group consists of 200 African men and women was featured in the award winning German documentary Kinshasa Symphony.  Nothing, nothing, I mean nothing comes close to seeing an African woman in her "lapa" (traditional dress) slaying some Beethoven.
